Shutdown ProcedureΒΆ

This procedure is accurate as of 4/23/15, as best I (Ben Rosser) remember it. If you want to turn off the cluster with a minimum of Fun, here is what you should do.

  1. Shut off the openstack VMs running under the admin tenant. Otherwise, bringing back VMs via the command line interface may be a bit tricky.
  2. Shut off the openstack compute nodes, enrique, serrao, and antonio.
  3. Shut off gomes, the openstack controller node.
  4. Shut off the AFS servers, running under virsh automation on magellan.
  5. Shut off the sunfires, (0-3).
  6. Shut off any other hosts in the cluster (like bigbrother), as they’ll soon lose networking.
  7. Shut down magellan. Everything should now be off!

To start things back up, you should proceed in reverse.
